Our Love Story
Meeting on a flight duty from Dubai to Brazil and Chile, we crossed paths on the eve of a supermoon and a pandemic - the universe conspired and it was maktoub (written) !
As we wandered through the vineyards and city streets of Santiago, sipped caipirinhas on the beach and took helicopter rides in Rio, we found ourselves gravitating closer to each other every day as the trip went on. We talked, laughed and explored theses cities so far removed from our own homes, and lapped up the South American sunshine as much as we could!
In a blink of an eye the 10 days had passed and it was time to return back to base. We felt that we didn't want to go our separate ways, but alas there was a pandemic looming..
Although neither of them were looking for a fairytale, Ally found her prince in Amir - it's Maktoub!
Grounded from flying and in lockdown in Dubai, we remained in constant contact throughout the pandemic with nightly chats and zoom dates. After we were released from lockdown a couple of months later, we graduated to supermarket dates (socially distanced of course!) and beach walks as life in the UAE slowly returned to normal. It was a strange time in the world but a beautiful way for the both of us to really get to know each other.
With Amir from Egypt and Ally from Australia, the pair may come from far ends of the world but they connect over their love of the moon, aviation, travel and of course, food!
Living an adventurous lifestyle of cabin crew for Emirates, the couple are constantly off travelling around the world for work, so they always look forward to enjoying their down time together in Dubai, when they like to relax, sip coffee on their balcony and catch up with friends. With Amir's future as a pilot on the horizon, the couple aren't sure where their next home will be in the world, but they are excited to embark on this next chapter of the adventure together.
Ally loves Amir's constant sense of calm, his killer smile and of course his mutual love of watching funny cat videos. Amir is a big support of Ally's projects, from yoga teaching to small business ventures, he is volunteering often to sample new product flavours and attend her classes.
Amir loves Ally's kind heart and caring personality, and, of course her hilarious sense of humour (most of the time). Her positive and adventurous outlook inspires Amir to make the most out of the everyday and to live in the moment. She is a big supporter of his career aspirations as a future pilot and is his biggest cheerleader.

We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives that are willing to travel far and wide to join our celebrations - your presence at our wedding is honestly gift enough!
However, if you would like to observe tradition and bring us a gift, a 'Wishing Well' will be present at our Reception Celebrations and any contribution toward our honeymoon will be wholeheartedly appreciated.
